Every Girl's Guide to Flings

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Marla Miniano
I bought this book first before guide to heartache and the guide to boys (I still don't have this) Why? Because I felt that I can't relate with the first book which is about heartache and then guide to boys didn't make feel wanting to buy it so when this book came out I said to myself "hey! this book is for me! I can relate"

tag-line:
"Because bad girls fall in love too."
--I know I'm one of the bad girls that fall in love too (in time!)lol!

Actually this is the last part of the trilogy guide! Anyway, Rickie here is someone you really have to be patient with. She has a tendency to be bitchy at times and everyone doesn't like her even her family (or so she thought).

Remember Jaime from the first book? Rickie got hooked up with him and of course, Anna got pissed off because of that (not for herself but because she knew Jaime was a jerk). Jaime being a real jerk showed his real self to Rickie and she just felt she's a loser. Until she met Diego-also-known-as-Jiggy, she knew what they have was just a temporary thing like fling.

I remember my dear friend, Aires telling me that fling means: Feeling of Love that Is Not Growing. Well, in this story, the love between Rickie and Diego did grow and they ended up taking one step at a time. The End.

5 stars for having a jam-packed scenes and having a nice ending for Rickie and Diego. :D

"See? I told you I was in love with you" - Diego

Every Girl's Guide to Heartache

Rating:★★★★
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Marla Miniano
tag-line:
"Because getting over a breakup can be messy"

First book of the Girl's Guide. This book tackles about having a rebound relationship (and who wanted it anyway?). Anna got dumped by her long time boyfriend and she wanted to get back to him. Miguel, her best friend, got also in the same page. Misery loves company. Anna and Miguel got closer to the point of Miguel falling in love with Anna.

Anna, thinking that Miguel can make her happy after the devastating breakup with Jaime. She knew that she is on the rebound relationship with Miguel. She discard the thought of facing her real problems. Until Miguel went out of her life. She felt everything was messed up and she needed to fix her life (as in face her problems). Of course, they were able to reunite at least as friends.

I rated this as 4.5 because the ending is kinda frustrating plus the characters were to young, that's all, thank you!

"You know how sometimes it feels like the stars are aligning to lead you towards your happy ending, creeping up on your unsuspecting self and taking you by surprise, and your happiness level is slowly rising..."

My Imaginary Ex

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Mina V. Esguerra
I bought this book a long time ago. I can't even remember the exact date and I forgot to mark the date! Anyways, the title itself made me buy this book. I got curious.

As I was reading this book, I felt for Jasmine having "imaginary ex" not that she wanted it in the first place but the circumstances brought her to that situation (and not because I can relate, I just wished I also had an imaginary ex but I have none! okay?! going back). Zack told everyone that Jasmine was his ex, that time Jasmine didn't mind having that label after all Zack and her are friends.

Zack had girlfriends but after sometime they'll broke up. Until one day marriage got into the picture, Jasmine didn't mind it at first but Zack's exes pushed her to do something before its too late. While Jasmine had Tim (her bf-turned-ex) out of the picture.

I remember being emotional on some parts of the book (I internalized it too much). Jasmine realized that she love Zack because of Zack's nosy exes! (how unusual! you'll never see these kind of exes in real life!--their extinct)

Overall, I rated this 5 stars because I like the concept, the characters, the climax, the ending (i didn't get frustrated with the ending!), in short, everything! :D

"I've been waiting for you to fall in love with me for a long time. But six months ago, I finally gave up."

12 Steps to Quitting AJ

Rating:★★★★
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Faye Ilogon
After two weeks of buying this book, tska ko lang siya nabasa. I love reading Filipino-made chick lits kaya I bought this book.

Super tawa ako ng tawa while reading this book at the same time dami kong natutunan and then after finishing the whole book nasabi ko sa sarili ko "Ah! Ganun pala yun."

Madaming top 3's sa book like break-up songs, car tiff tips, etc. etc. but what i like most is the cellphone mind tricks! (it made me want to try it someday to someone wihihihi!)

here are some of the cp mind tricks:

1. 31-day routine (the author made a perfect analogy of the Pavlov's theory about dogs and cellphone mind tricks! 5 stars for that) To do this, you have to send flirty text message to the object of your affection at the same time of the day for 30 days, then on the 31st day, don't text. So if he is into you he'll text you or even call you! (oha! i'll try this minsan!lol) --di ko to naisip! makalkal nga ang iba pang theories of learning at magamit yun in real life! ano pa't naging psych ako! >:))

2. Smiley Magic (sending smiley to your someone!) - not so appealing to me but who knows this might be effective!
3. Open Secret (or wrong send / mistext) - been there done that! un na!

There was even a guide on how to detect if a love letter sent to you is an original piece or just a copy-paste thing.

Overall, I like it, though of course pagchick lit, there is no definite ending (which frustrates me, really!) kaya 4.5 stars lang. It also made me think na Grace and AJ are real people! Kaya who knows di ba!

"...you know I love you. It seems that I've loved you forever. Maybe that love had to change over the years and I had to fall in love with other men before I could find you again. But I love you..."

Insights --thanks ms. hannah!

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
True! but there are things that makes life worth living for.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
Or check the surrounding first, you might step on 'something'. :)) seriously, ask a friend (that you trust) to accompany you, hold each others hands and take the next step. It will help you erase the doubts.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
I agree! so instead of hating anyone, just erase them completely out of your life. That way, your world will be more happy and colorful!

4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Well, sometimes, I'm guilty! hehe! Can't help it especially if the situation requires you to be serious. But when I'm okay, I'm happy.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
This is not applicable for me, why? because I don't have any credit cards at all!

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Ah.. Err.. oh well. Sometimes I wanted to win an argument! But as you grow wiser (i prefer wiser than older) You understand the concept of acceptance and understanding then you'll realize that some things are not worth fighting for.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
I still prefer to cry alone at night.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
For me, it's not okay to get angry with Him, though I am not the religious type of person, I am more of a spiritual person. We, as human, have to be humble for Him. We should accept that some things are not meant for us and some things are meant to be taken away from us, after all, that's life.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
Though  I'm the kind of person who likes planning ahead, I must say that as of this moment, I haven't thought about it. I save money but its not exactly for my retirement.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
I agree. Chocolates makes me happier.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
Everything has its own time. When there is already acceptance, forgiveness will follow. After all, no matter what you do, your past will always be part of your life.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
We also get hurt and when you get hurt, you cry. Your children won't take it against you if they see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others'.
True! God made our life different from one another. We are all unique individuals. There might probably some similarities but there will always be something different and unique to you.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
And why does it have to be a secret anyway? there is something wrong with the "relationship" right?

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
True. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. Proven correct! and thank God, He doesn't change.

16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying. Correct! Correct! Per-fect!

17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
Take one step at a time!

18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
I believe that we are all writers. You just have to be confident on the things that you write and you'll be successful!

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
Right!

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
Fight! Fight! and of course don't give up!

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
So Filipino..but we have to change it. Make it: Everyday is special. Its like Live you life to the fullest!

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
So me. I plan things ahead but when I'm there, I go with the flow. *Though, i tag along my plans, it is usually handy!

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
I like this. I am trying to do unusual things now, I try to go to places I like. Life is too short.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
You make your own destiny. You are the captain of your ship.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
Just learn from your mistakes and enjoy life

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone, everything.
Like what I usually say, in time, you will be able to learn to accept and forgive.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
Live your life the way you want it. Its your life anyway.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
Exactly my point!

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
Nothing is permanent in this life except CHANGE and DEATH.

32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
I thank ALL MY TRUE FRIENDS for always being there for me. Kate, Sheena, Jinky, Ruby, Kitin, Paula, Rose, Aires, Marga, Eyn, Kc, Mean, Rach and Fely. Super thank you for accepting me for who I am. I love you all.

33. Believe in miracles.
God has His own way of showing us little miracles of life.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
I love you too, God!

35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
  super like

36. Growing old beats the alternative - dying young.
Looking forward with growing old with YOU.

37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.

38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
I'll do that.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
Like what I told you, God has His own way of showing us little miracles of life.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
Savor it for a moment then move on.

41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. And this includes toxic people. You read it right. Toxic people. Sometimes, even so-called friends can be toxic. So rid yourself of that excess baggage. --I agree with ms. Hannah!

43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
Its better to love than not to love at all.

44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
Love all the things that you have and thank God for having them.

45. The best is yet to come.  Let's all be optimistic!

46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
Life goes on.

47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
I practice it everyday.

48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
Correct. Ask for forgiveness, ask for love, and ask for life!

49. Yield.
You can't have all the attention so give way to those who need it most.

50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
The kind of gift that only God can give.

Three Hundred Sixty Degrees

High school is the most colorful part of my life. Words are not enough to describe how good it was. We have the license to be childish, act immaturely and fight like cats after all we were still young. There were good and bad memories but all were worth it because they were part of it. We grew together and learned how to accept and understand. Despite everything, we remained intact. There is a certain unbreakable bond between us. We already cannot change the fact that our lives are intertwined with each other. We were one.

Until the time we have to part ways, my life had to make its 180 degrees turn. I have to look forward to another phase of my life, the college life. I met new friends and foes too. I got scared that my life will not be the same again that I'll be alone but I was wrong. They were always there; we were always there for each other. Birthdays. Happenings. Christmas. New Years. Every memorable event in our life. I was happy.

Four years. Another 180 degrees turn. Welcome to the real world! I had to make adjustments, for a moment I was lost. But I was trying to keep the knot tight. It worked.

However, trials in life are inevitable. It’s hard to keep the knot. Things change and life’s getting harder and harder. I thought, I’ll be meeting them somewhere here since I already made the 360 degrees turn but I was wrong. It’s our chance but we are slowly losing it. My life is bound to make its turn again. Leaving them behind and I had to wait for another life changing event for it to happen-- to meet them again, whole, intact and ONE.

Till we meet again?

Momo's Day

One time, dinaan sa dahas! He raped her!

(ang loser no?!)

Echo - Echosera! (lol!joke lang! echo lang talaga yan)
